Lawlessness and impiety will become so great that the threatening signs of the approaching end will not be heeded. A general falling away, then, will be the prevailing condition of men in those days; in the words of the apostle Paul; "Let no man deceive you by any means, for that day shall not come except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition, who opposes and exalts himself above all that he sits in the temple of God." 2 Thess. ii:3,4. Our Lord Himself gives another sign, and important one indeed, that is, that "the Gospel should be preached among all the nations." Matt. xxiv:14. "And then shall the wicked one be revealed." 2 Thess. ii:8 |
